The Arabian Nights

The New Theatre Company was formed in December 2003. Its first production in May of 2004 was a community play based on the traditional stories from 'The Arabian Nights'. With a cast of 20 adults and 60 youngsters from three local schools the play was performed at the Merlin Theatre in Frome Somerset. Nearly 100 costumes were created for this production, designed by costume designer Liz Holmes.

Romeo and Juliet

The New Theatre Company toured Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet early in 2004. Set in the shopping centre of a modern city the play drew inspiration from Club culture and night life on the streets.
